Antitrust launch case against ventilator firm Hamilton Medical AG

MOSCOW, Aug 3 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Federal Antimonopoly Service has launched a case against Swiss supplier of lung ventilators Hamilton Medical AG over the signs of coordination of actions of official distributors, the service said in a statement on Tuesday.

“The service has launched an antimonopoly case against Hamilton Medical AG over the signs of coordination of actions of official distributors of the producer during participation in state and municipal procurements for supplying the lung ventilators,” the statement read.

During field inspections of the official distributors of the ventilators produced by Hamilton Medical AG the service discovered that the company issued orders to the distributors about participation in the state and municipal procurement auctions. As a result, there was no competition between the distributors, as the prices were maintained at a certain level and the market was divided on the principles of territory and composition of buyers, the service said.
